Our in- and outpatient tube weaning program
Our on location tube weaning program at the University Children’s Hospital Graz, Austria, is offered either as an inpatient or an outpatient treatment.
This tube weaning program is run by our interdisciplinary team at the University Children's Hospital Graz, Austria, in scientific cooperation with the Medical University Graz.
How it works
In order to take part in our on location tube weaning program at the University Children's Hospital Graz, Austria, all you need to do is to register, pay the registration fee, fill out a medical questionnaire and start contacting us via our support ticket system you can find in your personal area. As soon as possible we will answer all your questions and create a therapy schedule with you. Further information on your stay in Graz and the treatment program can be found in your personal area after logging in.
Please note that the support ticket service is offered on a private basis by physicians working at the University Children's Hospital Graz. Due to this it possibly takes some time until your support ticket is answered. However, our physicians try to come online as often as possible, at least once a day, to help you and your child through this difficult phase.
Requirements
To insure the best possible psychological comfort and a secure situation for the child, we only accept children for treatment who can be accompanied by one and if at all possible both their parents. In over 80% the usually working fathers can come with their child too.
We do not accept any infant for tube weaning without a caregiver, with whom it is very comfortable. In many cases, siblings or grandparents are also admitted and integrated into the various daily treatment sessions. The more family is around, the more "at home" the child feels even though it is visiting a new place.
